Anti-Money Laundering Policy
This page is for everyone who deposits, plays or withdraws at Manitoba Casino. It applies from the moment an account opens, for as long as it stays open, and to the records we must keep after it closes.
Clean money in. Clean money out. That is the rule on this strip.
1. Why we verify
1.1 Players can join only from regions where local rules permit it, and we follow Canadian rules on age, identity checks and money laundering.
1.2 Through verification, we keep criminals from using our cashier to disguise where money comes from. It also guards against terrorist financing, fraud, stolen cards and underage play.
1.3 This protects you too. The checks make it far harder for anyone to set up an account in your name or drain your balance.
1.4 The cashier works in Canadian dollars (CAD) only. Minimum deposit: C$10. Minimum withdrawal: C$20. Interac withdrawals cap at C$4,000 each; bank transfers cap at C$40,000 each. Zero fees on deposits and withdrawals.
2. Screening for sanctions and political exposure
2.1 When someone signs up, we check the account holder against Canadian and international sanctions lists, and we run this screening again at regular intervals.
2.2 Current and former holders of high-profile public office, think senior government officials, judges, military leaders or heads of state enterprises, get screened too, as do their family members and close associates.
2.3 A match is not a finding of wrongdoing on your part. It triggers enhanced checks, which may involve extra documents and approval from a senior manager before the account can be used.
2.4 We do not open accounts for people named on a sanctions list, and we close any account such a person already holds.
3. Ongoing monitoring
3.1 Our checks do not stop once you have joined. We monitor activity on every account throughout the time it stays open.
3.2 Patterns that draw our attention include:
- Depositing and then cashing out after barely touching the games.
- Many different cards or wallets linked to one account.
- Payments made from accounts belonging to someone else.
- Deposits split into small pieces to stay under thresholds.
- Sudden jumps in deposit size that do not match past play.
- Location signals that do not match the details on file, including masking tools.
3.3 When activity looks unusual, we may pause transactions and ask questions before anything moves further.
4. Source of funds
4.1 Source of funds means where the money for this account comes from. Common answers are employment income, savings, a pension or the sale of property.
4.2 Where amounts are larger or rising quickly, we may also examine source of wealth, which means how a player accumulated their overall finances over time.
4.3 Accepted documents include bank statements, recent pay slips, tax notices or records showing the sale of an asset.
4.4 We use these papers solely to check that the funds are legitimate, and we handle them as described on our Your Privacy page.
5. Record keeping and reporting duties
5.1 We keep copies of identity documents, transaction records and the results of our checks for as long as Canadian law requires.
5.2 Records are kept in secure storage, and only employees carrying out compliance tasks can access them.
5.3 Solid reason to think money is tied to laundering or terrorist financing? Then the law makes us notify the relevant Canadian authorities. By law, we cannot reveal to any player if a report was filed or even exists.
5.4 We cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.
6. Identity and age checks
6.1 About to make a first deposit? We confirm your identity ahead of it, asking for the address you live at, your birth date, your complete legal name and proof you've reached 19. We also confirm you're playing from a region we serve.
6.2 Many checks are done electronically. If those checks cannot confirm who you are, we will ask you for documents.
6.3 Documents we may request:
- Photo identification issued by a government: a passport, a driver's licence or a provincial photo card.
- Address confirmation: any one of these, showing your name and home address together: a bill from a utility, a bank statement that is current, or a letter from the government.
- Payment ownership: a bank statement, a screenshot of your e-wallet showing your name, or a picture of your card's front side with the middle digits hidden.
6.4 Each image must be sharp and in full colour, with the entire document shown and all four corners in view.
6.5 Withdrawals are paid back to a verified method that you own. Once checks are complete, most are handled within 1 to 4 hours, while bank wire can take up to 12 hours.
7. When checks fall short
7.1 We hold withdrawals until any problem with your documents is sorted out, such as documents that are missing, cannot be read, have expired or do not match the details on your account.
7.2 Should we fail to verify who you are, or find that information you gave is false, we may suspend deposits and play and close the account.
7.3 Where the law allows, legitimate deposits get refunded to the same method that funded them. Any winnings tied to fraud or a false identity are void under our Terms & Conditions.
7.4 Where a check fails, any related bonus funds are dealt with according to our Promotion Terms.
7.5 Where required by law, we report details of the activity to the appropriate authorities.
